Come and enjoy the aviation experience!
Chief Flying Instructor David Yeo
I have been around aviation from an early age with my father flying model aircraft and full-sized gliders. With that said you wouldn’t say that flying is in my blood, more I received a taste of what aviation aspects were available.
Between the ages of twelve and twenty I had not been anywhere near an aircraft or aviation until I started to work as a shop assistant at a model and hobby shop in the Northland town of Whangarei. From there I was hooked. Weekends were spent out flying models, building models and dreaming of being able to fly the full sized aircraft one day.
In 2005 that dream started to become a reality with study and obtaining my Private Pilot’s Licence. Nearly five years later I started to study my Commercial Pilot’s License and went on to complete a Multi Engine Instrument Rating and become a C Category Instructor and a Microlight Instructor.
After obtaining those qualifications I went on to fly a Cessna to and from Motiti Island off the coast of Tauranga, New Zealand and worked part-time for Solo Wings in the engineering workshop.
Coming back to Solo Wings and especially to the Aviation Centre I look forward to the opportunity to meet existing and new customers so I can pass on my aviation passion and those wanting to learn or just brush up on their skills.
Whether it be in an Light Sport Aircraft, AutoGyro, Microlight or one of the bigger aircraft I look forward to assisting you reach for the sky and achieve your dream of flying.
